British Liver Trust
The British Liver Trust is the only UK charity supporting adults with liver disease and liver cancer. We empower patients through provision of guidance and information about treatments, living with liver disease, preparing for transplant, or life post-transplant. We have a liver nurse-led helpline, an online peer to peer support forum and over 30 trusted guides and booklets available for free on our website. We run hundreds of patient support groups every year, both online and face to face. Our work with key stakeholders, raising awareness and campaigning for improved prevention and early detection of liver damage seeks to address the UK liver health crisis and save lives. Over 90% of liver disease is preventable; our Love Your Liver campaign includes a focused Love Your Liver month every January, and ‘high street health checks’ with our mobile screening and scanning unit, offering free liver scans for the public, in towns and cities across the UK. Our helpline and online support groups are a lifeline for patients and families as we face the current NHS crisis, and our services are needed now more than ever.
